Overview
Senior Support Worker Location: Newington Green, North London Salary: £21,798.92 Hours: 37 hours per week (including days, evenings, sleep-ins and some weekends) Adept Recruitment is one of the UK's leading providers of permanent recruitment solutions to the Health and Social Care sectors and we offer bespoke consultancy services to clients and candidates alike. The Company Our client provides support to individuals with multiple or complex needs such as learning disabilities, autism and/or challenging behaviours across North London. They have 3 main areas of service delivery; Supported Housing and Independent Living, Supporting Families, and Learning and Leisure. These services deliver practical and emotional support to children and adults with a learning disability and their families. The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead a small and skilled team of support workers at their Independent Living Service in Newington Green. Coordinating meaningful support and activities for 10 service users, who live in their own flats, a key focus is to engage individuals with their peers and the local community, helping to tackle social exclusion and loneliness. Working in partnership with a variety of professionals and agencies, you will keep the service users at the heart of decision making to empower them and take positive risks. In addition, you will have strong administrative and organisational skills and experience of supporting and motivating people with learning disabilities to achieve their goals. Skills and Experience At least 2 years’ experience of working with people with learning disabilities or other vulnerable client groups . Experience of supporting people with additional mental health needs would be advantageous. Experience of providing guidance and support to staff members in a supervisory role. Salary and Benefits The salary is £21,798.92 for a 37 hour week.
