Overview

What is the purpose of this role? To manage the factory production plans liaising with and advising: The Production Shift Managers, The Goods in Department and the Despatch department. To establish the Factory ‘Position’ in the morning processing the orders in to the planning system and from them producing Line plans and the Kitting plan. What is this role accountable for? To be committed to the manufacture of safe and legal food and maintain an environment that supports this process · To ‘pull in’ the daily orders from our EDI system into Sage. · To check validity of the orders · To pull orders from Sage into the Excel planning system. · Establish position of Factory vs. plan. Uncover any outstanding Production or stock issues. · Liaise with Goods In about any Stock issues that will prevent start up · Create Prepack Production Plan · Create Kitting Plan for Goods In · 09:00am Stock position meeting, drive alignment with stock team to meet production requirements. · Minutes from the above to be communicated to the wider business · Attend the 10.15am tier meeting and lead management through the plan outlining any major issues or concerns · Host second stock meeting, aligning production plan and stock positioning with next 24-hour requirements. · Detailed Handover to be created from the above. · Liaise with Nights Shift Manager · Weekend point of contact for our customers. · Updating MRP system with customer requirements · Short term forecasting and communication alignment with customer What is the current scope and level of authority of this role? Reports to Planning Manager while maintaining production requirement in with Area Managers. What are the special features of this role? · Ability to update and transfer ordersinto Excel from Spectrum and Sage identifying any areas of concern/conflict · A good communicator able to listen to other staff, and identify areas of concern/conflict in their reports. · Able to communicate verbally and in writing issues that may affect production/supply · Customer facing for weekend coverage What qualifications and experience preferred for this role? · Aware of Factory Processes and how they interact · IT competent on various systems, Excel expert · Great communication skills, regularly communicates with all internal functions. · Personal confidence to make the call to prevent any issues becoming critical, and to alert senior staff to these issues. · Ability to work under pressure within tight time constraints Hours: 4 on 4 off shift work working 7am-7pm.
