Description Please note that Surrey County Council's headquarters, where this role is currently based, will be phasing a relocation back into Surrey starting at the end of this year to support our Community Vision 2030. About the role We are looking for a friendly, professional and customer focused individual who can work as part of a team, dealing with conflicting priorities in order to provide a responsive administration service to the officers of Democratic Services and all 81 County Councillors. As part of the Business Support Team, you will take responsibility for assigned business processes and be a first point of contact for officers and councillors in need of support services. Specific work areas will include finance and time administration using the SAP system. Training in our systems will be provided but an aptitude for IT is essential. You will be tasked with specific projects and will be responsible for identifying opportunities for service improvement and the end-to-end delivery of projects. Project coordination experience would be beneficial but being calm, customer-orientated and having the ability to communicate with people at all levels is crucial. Experience of working in an administrative role would be beneficial. We will need you to be flexible, computer literate and have a methodical approach to information gathering, recording and reporting. You will be able to demonstrate in your application that you: have excellent organisational skills have experience of working in a busy office environment or similar are able to work to tight deadlines have the ability to act on your own initiative are a quick learner and able to work flexibly as part of a team have a good knowledge of IT systems have strong communication skills with a high standard of spoken and written English.
