Overview

Are you a skilled Tradesman with excellent DIY skills? Do you have a sound knowledge of Health & Safety requirements along with good plumbing, electrical, carpentry, decorating and other general maintenance skills? If yes, Crossways Recruitment would like to hear from you. Our client is urgently looking for a School Caretaker to assist with: Servicing: · Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment · Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures · Report defects and/or damage to any buildings, fixtures and fittings · Assist with organising and supervising contractors · Carry out Helpdesk requests, attending to any emergencies · Ensure all tools and equipment are used and maintained appropriately Security: · Ensure site security (CCTV, barriers, perimeter boundaries, external doors/windows) · Lock up and set alarms at the end of your shift · Act as Fire Controller/Marshal in the event of an emergency · Identify any site risks or hazards, meeting Health & Safety standards · Provide safe access to buildings and classrooms in the event of bad weather · Ensure compliance/relevant servicing regulations are met Qualifications: · 4 years’ experience within Building Maintenance Industry · NVQ level 2 or equivalent in construction/building maintenance · Full driving licence - willingness to drive minibuses/cars · IT literate Desirable: · Knowledge of Safeguarding · Asbestos and Legionella Awareness · Fire and Health/Safety Certificate · Electricity & Power Awareness · COSHH Awareness · Knowledge of working with plant equipment, boilers and pumps Hours: 11am - 7.30pm Mon - Fri (occasional weekend work) You will also form part of a call rota to attend any call outs 24/7 including weekdays, weekends and bank holidays, if required If you meet the above criteria, please submit your CV today.
