Overview
A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced business development professional to join the Finance practice of a major international law firm as a Business Development Manager. The role will focus on supporting the UK-based Finance partners but will also work closely with the Finance partners and associates across the firm's EMEA and Asia businesses. The Finance practice is a growing and successful part of the business with strong and recognised expertise in Asset Finance, Corporate Finance, Energy and Project Finance, Real Estate Finance, Structured Finance, DCM and Restructuring & Insolvency. The Finance BD team is fully integrated in the Finance business and is regarded as a vital element in the formulation and execution of the Finance business plan and is held in very high regard. The Business Development Manager will focus on working with the Head of BD Finance and the relevant fee earners to develop initiatives that are aligned to the firm's business plan and key client, product and sector objectives. The role holder will enjoy a broad role including working with partners to develop BD plans and with fee earners on pitches and client targeting initiatives and developing strategic product lines globally. In addition, on the marketing side pro-actively support profile raising activity through directory and award submissions, identify and execute thought leadership campaigns and assist with the creation of relevant materials and advise on best channels for dissemination. The successful candidate will be a bright graduate or equivalent with significant business development experience in a corporate or partnership environment to include time working in finance, capital markets or another similar transactional practice. You will possess a positive, team-oriented attitude, have strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills and be capable of working under pressure. The Business Development Manager should also have a strong understanding of finance and related legal services.
