Overview
Our client is a large and professional business based on the outskirts of Reading town centre, just a 10 min walk from Reading train station ( no parking) They require an articulate and friendly receptionist to join their team, starting on 1st April until end of Augus t. Its essential the successful candidate has strong reception experience. Hours of work - Monday- Friday hours between 8-6 ie. (8-5 or 9-6, shared with the other receptionist you must be available to do both shifts) The Role From answering telephone calls to managing the Facilities Helpdesk, this job is more about client and staff liaison than simply a Receptionist. Meeting & greeting visitors in a polite and professional manner Ensure front of house reception area and Café /break out area is tidy and well presented at all times. Answer in-coming telephone calls professionally and efficiently Maintaining visitors book and ensure that the signing in procedures are adhered to as well as the relevant H&S procedures Assist in the weekly testing of the Fire Alarm and maintain a log of these. Liaising with couriers/deliveries to ensure they're directed to the appropriate person in a timely and efficient manner. Deliver excellent customer service to colleagues, clients and suppliers and ensure high standards of courtesy and delivery are maintained. Co-ordination of incoming/outgoing post. Database management in line with office procedures. Assist the Buildings Manager & Facilities Assistant with the smooth and effective running of the office. Ensure all contractors to site are expected and check with the Buildings Manager and/or Facilities Assistant that the works are expected. Assist with any other ad-hoc administrative duties as part of the wider facilities team as reasonably directed by the Buildings Manager, Head of Admin or other Senior Managers. Raise, issue and monitor all facility related requests through the Facilities Helpdesk and liaise with the wider team. The Person The receptionist will be proficient, well-presented and articulate Previously reception experience/ face to face customer service You will have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, (in particular Word, Excel and Outlook) and previous receptionist experience is essential. You will need to have excellent communication skills and a high degree of self- management and initiative. 5 GCSE's at C or above (including Maths and English).
