Sector: Manufacturing Job Title: General Operative Pay Rate: £8.21 per hour (rising to £9.76 per hour on 13th week) Hours: 40 hour working week (anything worked after 40 hours per week paid at time and a half) Breaks: 1 x 30 minute break Contract type: Temporary to Permanent Shift Requirement: 07:00-17:00 Monday to Thursday rotating with 07:00-17:00 Tuesday to Friday. initially. Shift times are subject to change to suit business requirements. You will be given as much notice as possible for any shift alterations. Gi Group, Doncaster are currently recruiting for General Operatives on behalf of a market leading and innovative manufacturing company based in Thorne, Doncaster (DN8). THE ROLE Carrying out physically demanding tasks, e.g. manual handling, standing for long periods. Loading products on to various machinery. Responsible for various aspects of production which could include assembling, cleaning and packing of units whilst ensuring quality standards are met at all times. Operatives must adjust the product at times using hand tools to ensure they are aligned correctly. Placing a quality control sticker on the back of each unit and ensuring the correct data is visible. Ensure the wrapping of the unit is to an acceptable standard and the unit is scanned on the system. Maintaining consistent satisfactory levels of housekeeping. Conforming with all safety standards and use of appropriate PPE at all times. THE CANDIDATE Able to perform manual handling tasks such as lifting, stacking and carrying of products varying in sizes. Have a good level of numerical knowledge Reliable and punctual Trustworthy Good problem solving ability Attention to detail for quality checking purposes. Health and Safety knowledge/training within a manufacturing environment is desirable.
