Underwriting Assistant - North American Property Job Market - Insurance / Underwriting Underwriting Assistant - North American Property - About the role This is a trainee underwriter role that aims to develop underwriting proficiency and knowledge within a fast tracked learning environment, supporting all aspects of the US Property Underwriting Team, including underwriting performance monitoring, client relationship management and servicing new and renewal business. Underwriting Assistant - North American Property - Key Duties Underwriting on-the-job training, with view to developing underwriting proficiency and knowledge within a fast tracked learning environment Assist in providing a full and comprehensive service to brokers including underwriting, servicing, the preparation of new and renewal business, and the communication of our underwriting areas and risk appetite Preparing underwriting presentations and managing relationships with key stakeholders including brokers, clients, and internal management teams Travel as required Analysis of data quality for underwriting submissions and correction/rejection where data does not meet the required standard Writing up all business and checking data entries Maintaining an up to date and efficient fi ling system Responsibility for the accuracy and upkeep of all written premium data for all risks written within the area of responsibility Providing statistical information to the line underwriter when required, liaising with credit control regarding premium payments and monitoring renewal lists Ensuring that the all systems are kept fully up to date following amendments and endorsements Check slips for Risk Admin and advise for slip entry Monitoring monthly underwriting performance and catastrophe aggregate accumulations Preparing and presenting numbers for monthly meetings and preparing minutes for regular meetings Underwriting Assistant - North American Property - Key requirements Desire to undertake insurance qualifications Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Solid organizational skills and detail oriented Analytical thinker with research proficiencies Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) A levels / University degree
