Buyer

The Company: Nigel Wright Procurement and Supply Chain Division are working exclusively with a high volume manufacturer to recruit a Buyer. The Role: Working collaboratively with purchasing/production teams in both the UK and internationally, your key remit will be to improve supplier performance in relation to quality, cost and delivery within production for the local manufacturing facility. This is a standalone role and will report into the Purchasing Manager. You will target continuous improvement in addition to cost reductions which will require you to liaise closely with Group Purchasing, Production Control, Logistics and Quality Teams. You will monitor and report upon supplier performance and challenge the Purchasing Teams to improve the site's cost base. You will also be heavily involved in new product introduction projects, influencing engineering change requests and facilitating supply transfers. The Person: The ideal candidate will have/be: Minimum 3 years' experience within purchasing - ideally within high volume manufacturing Knowledge of production and logistics within a manufacturing environment including an understanding of lean principles Experience of relationship building/stakeholder management including shop floor and support staff essential Excellent communication skills A proactive and independent approach Able to travel to Europe upon a monthly basis This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, international business.
