Overview
The Company: Nigel Wright are delighted to be working exclusively with a growing FMCG business to recruit a Site Buyer. The Role: Reporting into the Head of Purchasing, you will be responsible for both Direct and Indirect spend and have some line management responsibility. Key accountabilities include: Full operational purchasing responsibility for the site (directs and indirects) and line management of a small team Supplier relationship management New supplier sourcing and market research around key trends and material innovation Identifying opportunities for SKU rationalisation/supplier consolidation Close collaboration with R&D, Technical and Production teams Supporting Sales and Finance Teams at bid stage The Person: The ideal candidate will have/be: Hands-on purchasing experience (direct materials' focus within manufacturing ideal) Confident negotiator and dynamic communicator - comfortable in customer facing situations (desirable not essential) Amiable, flexible team player - accustomed to working within a collaborative environment Inquisitive, eager to learn Excellent analytical and strong excel skills essential Experience of running MRP beneficial Accustomed to working at pace This role would be ideal for an accomplished 'Site Buyer' who is seeking for their next progressive move.
