Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who is caring, compassionate, understanding and has a passion for supporting pupils within the classroom and in the community is required to join a fantastic team in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Their holistic approach boosts confidence, self-esteem and helps their young people to develop skills to be a successful learner. A therapeutic informed approach is used to recognise and reduce barriers to learning and create a personalised curriculum. As the Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you would be expected to ensure all children and young people within their care are secure and receiving the best possible educational provision and outcomes. Working alongside the Headteacher and other Teachers you will support with learning activities, help plan lessons and prepare teaching materials and resources. You will give clear and effective teaching to secure pupil progress whilst assessing the development, progress and attainment of pupils. You will also contribute to an integrated model of care and the organisations outreach developmental plan whist supporting the pupils, recognising and responding to their individual needs. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS As the Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will have the following: • A good understanding of the national curriculum framework and differentiation • Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent • Evidence of vocational education or relevant experience • Strong literacy and numeracy skills • The ability to use your initiative • The ability to communicate effectively with children and parents and work as part of our dedicated and caring staff team If you are successful you will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS Disclosure check prior to employment and then on a 3-yearly update.
