Overview
Our client who are a global leading IT Consultancy are seeking the skills and experience of a Data Engineer. You will be working closely with the Data Analytics team to support key business priorities: increase and maximise revenues and improve internal systems. You will work with sub business units including product owners, scrum masters, solutions architects, software architects and fellow software engineers. The key fundamental of your role will be to design, develop, test and support data and analytics solutions. The role: You will be an instrumental part of the Agile software delivery team; typically delivering within an Agile Scrum framework. You will work on the full range of software engineering and solutions development activity; covering requirements gathering and analysis, solutions design, software coding and development, testing, implementation and live support. You will contribute to the software engineering communities by providing your ideas for innovation and process improvement and coaching and mentoring less experienced team members. Experience required: Experience as a software engineer delivering within large scale and complex 'big data’ and data analytics solutions. Ability to operate at all stages of the software engineering lifecycle Experience of Agile Scrum based delivery Personal drive, enthusiasm, willingness to learn Excellent communications skills Technical expertise: You will have a range of leading ETL toolsets, database technologies, data analytics toolsets, operating systems, platforms (Cloud/traditional), programming and scripting languages. E.G. Cloudera-Hadoop ecosystem: Hive, HiveQL, HDFS, Impala, Oracle DB, PLSQL, SQL, Unix, AWS, Azure, Informatica, Business Objects, Pentaho DI, Pentaho BA, SAS 9.x, SAS Viya, PowerBI, Python, Talend, Denodo, Unix, Shellscript, Java, Javascript.
