About the job Hours are negotiable and flexible We are looking for Assessment social workers who are passionate and enthusiastic to join us in improving outcomes for our most vulnerable young people and families in Somerset to encourage positive change. Our social workers and team managers work tirelessly to ensure that thresholds have been met and that our service users are stepped up to safeguarding if a CIN, CP or CLA is needed or down to our FIS. We embed a strong sense of team with weekly meetings with our practice colleagues with weekly debriefs, fortnightly group supervision and we ensure that we all take ownership of our improvement plan. We build resilience in our social workers through reflective and supportive supervision and strong case management conferencing. Somerset staff morale is good, and management are committed to staff retention. Extensive training and development opportunities are supported by weekly CPD, and on-site additional management support from Consultant Social Workers, and Advanced Social Work Practitioner (AP) Programme with role specialism. The AP salary scale is £33,799 - £37,849. We promote flexible working within our assessment teams and will consider part time, 9-day fortnight and other flexible working approaches. The team for the west of the county are based in County Hall in Taunton. As the county town transport links are great with access to the M5, less than two hours by train to London and 40 minutes drive in each direction to Bristol and Exeter.
