Overview
The Opportunity Drummond Bridge is delighted to be retained by a rapidly growing manufacturing organisation based in Port Glasgow to recruit a Head of Operations. Reporting directly to the CEO you will be responsible for managing and leading the Manufacturing, Production, Procurement and Logistics functions. You will be tasked with ensuring the operational areas are running efficient and level of service is always maintained to meet and exceed customer expectations. Responsibilities As Head of Operations and a vital part of the Senior Management Team you will be responsible for the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives that will support the business goals. Overseeing the warehouse and production functions by managing day to day activities Lead the factory production scheduling using the organisation ERP System Manage the organisations production in their Asian manufacturing facilities Managing overall logistics function including sea freight Planning and coordinating change by monitoring and amending current processes Managing all direct reports in the warehouse and production teams including identifying key training and competency requirements Acting as a member of the leadership team, liaising with other managers throughout the business and providing timely reports to management Recognition of risks to company contract and operation Establish and maintain professional relationships with customer personnel, teams and contractor staff Who We Are Looking For We are looking to speak with inspirational Senior Operations Professional with extensive experience of managing and improving manufacturing operations in fast paced and demanding environments. You will also possess the following: Able to demonstrate through previous work experience technical and operational knowledge gained in a leadership role Business knowledge and the ability to understand financial impact Experience working directly with a customer including attending, facilitating and contributing to meetings Leadership experience in the management of a team of operators and skilled technicians Knowledge of Health & Safety and appreciation of its importance 5s and Lean Manufacturing knowledge Advanced user of ERP Systems Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal Brings energy and enthusiasm High levels of drive and personal commitment to achieve success Remains calm when under pressure Commercially curious and relishes challenges A willingness to work flexibly High attention to detail & accuracy and be highly compliant Possess excellent time management skills Ability to develop strategy to achieve company goals Understand financial statements and effect on strategy
