Requirements Undertake a range of personal and physical care tasks which may include assistance with washing, dressing, eating, and administration of medication. Support and encourage people to make their own choices and decisions in all aspects of their daily lives. Providing flexible support enabling people to take part in activities and achieve their personal outcomes. Actively promoting and ensuring a high standard of care practice in accordance with National Care Standards, ensuring individuals are treated in a respectful and dignified manner at all times. Pushing and pulling of equipment such as hoists, wheelchairs and use of emergency evacuation equipment whilst working within Health and Safety requirements. Undertaking relevant training, taking ownership and being responsible for own continuous professional development, ensuring all required mandatory training and development needs are met within the required timescales. Linking with other providers, statutory and voluntary agencies, including health, to develop positive working relationships compiling information on other relevant and available community resources. The Individual Must have, in the first period of registration, Social Services and Healthcare SCQF6 SVQ3 qualification or equivalent to meet Scottish Social Services Council registration Knowledge of National Care Standards (Deliver results - See ‘How We Work Matters’ Framework) Ability to provide a regular and effective service Experience/awareness of National Care Standards service (Deliver results-See How we work matters framework) You must have the ability to engage positively with groups of frail elderly service users, to develop strong positive and trusting relationships in order for them to continue to build links and friendships with others in their community. The post holder will have to undertake and complete core training. Ability to provide a regular and effective service. Ability to make effective decisions. Good Communication skills. Experience of making effective decisions (Focus on customers) Ability to be innovative and creative Ability to work in a flexible way. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Networking skills Knowledge of outcome focused approach. Organisational skills. Ability to manage and prioritise workload.
