A truly unique opportunity with a public sector organisation has arisen in Liverpool for a HR Category Lead (please note this is a Procurement role, not Human Resources) Your new company A progressive public-sector organisation based in Liverpool. Following a period of continued success and the growth of their commercial team, an opportunity has arisen for a senior Procurement professional to take ownership of a specific category within the team. Your new role As Category Lead, you will take strategic ownership of the procurement of HR services such as recruitment/contingent labour; apprenticeship training, language and pension services and L&D (learning and development). You will provide technical advice to senior internal & external stakeholders, demonstrating your expertise in this category area and showing your credibility, which will ultimately aid you in building relationships. You will design and implement effective category strategies, and not be afraid to think creatively and challenge current processes. You will strive to improve performance of suppliers and the category itself. What you'll need to succeed You must have: proven category management and procurement experience and a track record of success in delivering value for money experience in influencing and working with senior stakeholders, both internal and external experience in identifying opportunities to improve a process/policy which results in savings and efficiencies team leadership and management experience ideally, you will have HR category management experience Please note that regular travel to other offices and client meetings are required for this role, so please be flexible.
