Overview

A diligent and ambitious Chief Accountant is required by a highly reputable, international organisation whose offices are based near Gillingham. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Chief Accountant will be primarily responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting adhering to both IFRS and UK GAAP. These reports will be used by key stakeholders in order to better understand the operational performance of the organisation. Chief Accountant Key Responsibilities: ? Preparing accounts and financial statements across a number of international entities in accordance with various legal requirements. ? Monthly and Quarterly closing activities for local entity and local statutory reports ? Cash management activities for the local entity ? Performing balance sheet reconciliations ? Preparing monthly trial balance ? VAT and other tax declarations for the local entity ? Preparing monthly cost allocations and recharging where necessary ? Resolving all technical accounting queries ? Preparing both annual and biannual audits ? Stringently monitoring working capital - identifying risks and opportunities ? Deputising for the Financial Controller by liaising with all necessary, external third party advisors ? Delivering ad hoc project work and associated process improvement related activity when required The candidate: ? Recently qualified or finalist level finance professional (ACA or ACCA) ? Strong, previous technical accounting and reporting experience ? Highly proficient with Excel and finance systems generally ? Previous experience of working in a similar role ? Emotionally intelligent with first class communication skills both written and oral ? Able to work self sufficiently whilst managing a busy, varied workload ?
