Overview
Job Advert Principal Early Years Officer (CS2812) Moray Early Learning and Childcare Centre An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Early Years Officer to work as part of the senior leadership team at the new Early Learning and Childcare Centre at Moray Primary School. It is essential that you have proven leadership and practical experience in working with children under 5 years in a relevant setting. Following major construction the new Centre will open in August 2020 and will provide flexible early learning and childcare options for parents. The new ELC Centre will be renamed and will begin to deliver the new expanded 1140 hours for all eligible children. The Centre will operate an extended day, extended year provision, as well as meeting the demands for term time only sessions. The Principal EYO reports directly to the Head of Centre and is responsible for the supervision of staff within the Early Learning and Childcare Centre including: senior early years officers, early years officers, SfLAs, administration assistants and ancillary staff. You should have sound knowledge of recent and relevant practice in early learning and childcare including child development and schematic play. You will have extensive experience of working with children from birth to 5 years with a focus on meeting children’s wellbeing needs first and foremost and using a play based approach to identify and extend learning. It is planned that the successful candidate will be in post, prior to the opening of the Centre, to assist the Head of Centre with the move from the current Moray Primary School Nursery Class as well as have the opportunity to support the recruitment the new staff team. You will be required to hold BA in Childhood Practice (or be working towards) or other relevant child care qualification equivalent to SCQF level 9. You should have significant and relevant post qualification experience. This post is permanent and full time (37 hours).
