Overview
I have an exciting opportunity for a Residential Support Worker to work at a children's residential home. The service specialises in care and support for children and young people with learning disabilities and autism. The service is based between Grimsargh and Haighton, Lancashire. Duties: Provide 24/7 specialist residential support in a safe, caring and homely environment for young people aged 16-25 with autism and learning disabilities. As a member of the residential care team, you will strive to bring out the best in every young person by supporting and guiding them in their daily lives. This could be in the form of helping the young person at school, accompanying them to take part in an activity (walking, horse riding, trampolining, Duke of Edinburgh etc.) or simply assisting them in completion of general daily tasks, including morning and night time routines. What we are looking for: Experience in a support worker role is essential. Prepared to deal with challenging behaviour which may be exhibited by a young person at any time for any number of reasons.
