Name of Executive Head Teacher: Dayo Okunlola Salary: £12,700-£13,900pa (actual salary) could be more depending on Experience Hours: Full Time 9.00am to 3.00pm (30 hours per week) Giving Special Needs Children a Future Through Education Your School: We offer full time education and short-term day respite placements for children with statements and Education and Health Care (EHC) plans, usually on the autistic spectrum, or with social, emotional or mental health needs. Learners come from diverse settings; many have a history of disrupted and /or limited schooling. The Post: We are looking for a TA/Keyworker to join our team. You would be working alongside the teacher with an individual pupil or as additional support with a small group of 3-4 children. We offer training and professional development as well as a clearly structured career path. We are very strong on personal development and encourage staff to further themselves, we are currently supporting and sponsoring 4 staff members to complete their Higher Level Teaching Assistant Course, and we plan to do this each year with suitable staff. We also work a shorter hour’s week of only 30 hours, 9am-3pm, and the contact with children is only 9:30am-2:30pm. The Person: ARE YOU THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR? You should have the desire and motivation to meet the challenge of working with children with SEN. If you are passionate about making a real difference to young people and can demonstrate your experience of working with pupils with special educational needs, particularly those with autism and/or challenging behaviour, in a structured setting either within the classroom or in youth work, we would love to hear from you. You should be adaptable and an excellent communicator with a commitment to professional development. You will need to have experiencing of working with SEN children, but there are no specific qualifications required.
