Overview

Headline; Got loads of experience with DevOps processes and want to automate the hell out of everything? Give this one a read… Location; Castle Donington Role; DevOps Automation Engineer (Jenkins) Package; up to £490/ day, 3-month duration This is a critical time for this company; they are going through a DevOps transformation and have lots to deliver so need all hands on deck to make sure things go as smoothly as possible. You have the chance to flex your technical muscles and use your process automation, scripting, and automated build knowledge to their fullest extent You will be improving their DevOps processes first and foremost; you will be looking after their CI/ CD pipelines- moving them from Jenkins pipelines to dynamic Jenkins pipelines so they can level-up and build things in containers with kubernetes. You will be getting involved with lots of different areas that need attention, predominantly around automation, cloud, scripting, and if you happen to have any experience with test automation, that may well be put to good use too; essentially taking away the difficult tasks that the team have put off or haven’t got time to do themselves; supporting them and making their lives easier as a result. You’re someone that loves collaborating with people, understanding how they like to work and fitting your knowledge and experience around them; not the other way around; this is quite an important quality for you to have, as they have a great culture there and want to maintain their happy workforce by getting similar-minded people into the fold It’s a close-knit team who love getting stuck in and supporting each other, so this probably isn’t the right contract for someone who’s looking for a hands-off role. It’s a 3-month contract, so you’ll have plenty of time to get things done the right way - they don’t like cutting corners, and hopefully you don’t either. As a bonus, if things line up nicely it’s possible that things might extend, depending on how quickly work gets done, or how much there ends up being after the initial period of 3 months- no guarantees, but they like to think ahead At a glance, you’ll need to be great with the following technologies… · Jenkins, including dynamic pipelines · Powershell · Containerisation with Kubernetes This would be useful but not imperative; · Azure or other public cloud provider · Test automation Want to know a bit more?
