Staff Nurse Location: Newbury, Berkshire Salary: £30,500 - £32,600 per annum ( up to £17.00 per hour ) - negotiable depending on your experience Overtime rates: £20.30 p/h (weekday shifts), £28.00 p/h (weekend shifts), £23.00 p/h (nights) Hours: Full Time and Part Time hours are available - you can choose depending on your preference (options of: 11.5 hours, 23 hours, 34.5 hours or 37.5 hours) Shifts : Options of Days only (7.30am - 8pm) or Nights only (7pm - 7.30am) or Mixed shifts on a rotational basis - you can choose depending on your preference An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified or experienced Registered Nurse - RMN, RNLD, RGN or RCN - ( Mental Health Nurse , Learning Disability Nurse and/or Registered Adult Nurse ) to work within a very positive, friendly and supportive Low and Medium Secure Mental Health Hospital situated in Newbury, Berkshire. The Hospital has an excellent recent CQC rating. The Hospital has a very positive and supportive work environment with a brilliant long-standing team. The culture of the hospital is very team orientated and the Managers have an open-door policy and are very approachable and respectful; everyone's contribution is valued. Service Details: This Hospital has a combination of low secure and medium secure units and rehabilitation flats for adults with mental illness/complex care needs as well as those with a personality disorder. Patients may have histories of offending and/or may have failed in previous placements. The hospital has also recently opened a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Below is a list of the services they offer: 58 low secure beds in four wards 38 medium secure beds in three wards 10 enhanced low secure beds for patients who require assessment and treatment in a highly structured and safe environment 17 low secure beds for patients who are elderly/physically frail 10 bedded Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit Rehabilitation flats with rooms for eight patients to live with greater independence prior to discharge If you have an interest to work in a specific area / on a specific ward, then please state this in your application and we will endeavour to accommodate your preference Shifts : The hospital can accommodate part-time or full-time hours and they can be flexible with shifts. They are happy to consider fixed shift patterns and they are happy to consider nurses who prefer working days only or nights only. Their shifts are as follows: Days shifts (7.30am - 8pm) or Night shifts (7pm - 7.30am). Please state if you have any preferences on your hours and/or shift pattern in your application. Location : The Hospital has free on-site parking. Training / Induction and opportunities for development and progression: The hospital offers a structured and thorough 2-week induction programme for all staff nurses, which will include various training courses. You will also have access to clear and structured development programmes where you can see clear pathways to progression within the hospital. Training and development is one of the major ethos' of the hospital. There are no limits to training and development as the hospital will fund any training course you would like to do that is relevant to your job role. Staff wellbeing: The hospital has a monthly staff wellbeing budget and regularly host wellbeing events for their staff. For example, next month a massage therapist is coming into the hospital for 3 days to give massages to nurses for free. The hospital also does regular breakfast mornings, whereby the hospital director comes round with bacon / sausage butties or Krispy Kreme's for all staff.
