Overview
Linux Administrator Huntress are working with a medical organisation based in Sutton/London. This role would be perfect for an experienced Linux Administrator who is looking to work on large scale infrastructure in a stimulating environment which makes a difference to people's lives. The successful candidate will support the researchers and clinicians who use the HPC service. They will provide first line user support and must be able to convey technical concepts to non-specialists. We are looking for somebody who is a proactive problem solver but who can also work in a wider team running a portfolio of services, helping to drive continuous improvement. You must have demonstrable Linux server management skills including scripting, DevOps, service monitoring, storage and networking concepts, and an interest in applying cutting edge technology. Exposure to HPC environments is advantageous but not a requirement and training will be given in specific areas. Experience of the administration of relevant Cloud based services for data processing and large scale storage would also be beneficial. The post-holder will report to the HPC Lead but also be expected to report and provide strategic guidance to the Head of Scientific Computing and other managers within the company.
