Overview

The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the effective and efficient management of patient care by providing a safe, caring, secure environment, a timely internal patient movement operation, internal goods movement and postal service, linen and reception service, and participate in the removal and disposal of waste. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES Carry out the internal movement of patients and goods Be responsible for the Hospital postal service for internal and external deliveries Responsible for the removal of household, clinical and special waste to the appropriate collection points Responsible for the receipt, safe and secure and appropriate storage and subsequent delivery of all deliveries to site Responsible for the removal of dirty linen to the appropriate collection points, the top-up of clean linen to the appropriate locations on Site Respond to ad-hoc requests made via the Helpdesk Participate in actual major incidents and exercises Be aware and participate in all emergency procedures i.e. fire, cardiac arrest, intruder/panic security, major incidents and bomb alerts Administer lock-up procedures Provide reception duties out-of-hours including operating the Hospital switchboard, receiving and directing all patients, visitors and staff presenting themselves at Reception, and monitoring alarms on the building management system Changing medical gas cylinders on the manifolds in the medical gas manifold room and providing replacement cylinders to clinical staff when required, refilling of the cryogenic flask Carrying out various cleaning tasks as and when required and operating cleaning machinery The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties which may reasonably be required within the nature of the duties and responsibilities of the post Good Customer Service - ensuring the clients requests are dealt with accordingly and within a time limit To be responsible in carrying out certain tasks such as locking up and participation in major incidents Being able to prioritise tasks in order of importance Competencies: Customer service Previous experience of working with people Demonstrable understanding of confidentiality issues Ability to work alone or effectively as part of a team Ability to show positive attitude to work using inactive and resourcefulness Core qualities and attributes: Good with people Flexibility in approach to work Ability to organise Reliable Positive attitude and ability to work without constant supervision Adecco acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
