We are looking to recruit a Fuel Quality and Education Officer based at our Peterborough Energy Recovery Facility (ERF), working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. What will you be doing? The Fuel Quality and Education Officer is a role with combined responsibilities for both the Education and Visitor Centre at Peterborough ERF and arranging and conducting site visits, carrying out audits and collecting samples and analysis (as required) at customer premises and at the Company's ERFs to ensure Waste delivered is compliant with the specifications for those respective facilities. The Fuel Quality and Education Officer will be responsible for the production and communication of reports generated from site visits and external laboratory analysis (where appropriate) including reporting of non-conformances to the relevant teams. You will support the delivery of the educational and visitor requirements within the Peterborough City Council contract. You will raise awareness and a better understanding of the ERF and Viridor's facilities generally by developing and delivering appropriate, safe and timely educational visits, informative programmes, activities and educational materials. This may include the production of educational resources, attendance at public exhibitions and events, meetings and presentations on or off-site. What do you need? Experience of giving presentations tailored to a specific audience Experience of working in the waste and resources industry Ability to recognise different types of waste streams and types Good knowledge of Health and Safety and equality requirements for public visits and operational sites Knowledge of, or experience working with, or liaising with, schools, teaching methods and systems Excellent communication skills, credible and able to influence at all levels Excellent presentation skills Self-motivated and resilient Enthusiasm for the environmental sector What can Viridor offer you?
