Urgent care is provided for a variety of conditions, including acute medical conditions such as respiratory and chest complaints; traumatic injuries; ear, nose and throat conditions; fractures, sprains and strains; stomach, bowel and bladder problems; minor wounds, burns, or cuts and grazes and general aches and pains Job Description As a Senior Staff Nurse at our Urgent Care Centre, you will responsible for leading the management of the Urgent Care Centre services within the hospital, providing a visible and authoritative presence in a clinical setting, providing clinical leadership within defined areas by acting as a positive role model, who practices evidence based care, to ensure high standards of clinical care. This is a full time fixed term contract: 37.5 hours per week, you will be on internal rotations covering various shifts from 8am – 10pm. Salary: £40,195 - £44,661 dependent on Experience plus 6% enhancements & Benefits Please note we will close this role early if suitable number of applications are received Duties and Responsibilities Working collaboratively with the Urgent Care Centre Sister/Charge Nurse and Matron to implement and achieve the unit’s short and long term goals which are aligned with the organisational vision/mission. Serve as clinical expert resource on a shift by shift basis and involves other disciplines to achieve quality care and service. Work collaboratively to support senior staff with the recruit and selection of exceptional staff. Implement effective strategies to retain quality staff. Actively participates in an effective staff performance and appraisal system where applicable Establish optimum care standards, which meet or exceed agreed standards. Skills and experience Registered Nurse Level 1 with a valid NMC registration and PREP requirements ENB 998 or equivalent Experience of working with an Urgent Care environment would be a huge advantage.
