EMPLOYMENT SOLICITOR -2 PQE - NEWCASTLE THE FIRM - Newastle City Centre based commercial law firm - Headed up by an experienced Partner, the long established employment team is known for offering advise to both employers and employees THE ROLE - An experienced Solicitor (or Legal Executive equivalent) is required for this long established close knit employment division - You will be advising respondent and claimant clients on a full range of employment law matters, to include disciplinaries, redunancies, TUPE transfers, discrimaination claims, as well as dratfing employee handbooks etc - In addition to your fee earning duties, you will also be involved in supporting the Partners in the strategic direction of the department through business development and marketing activities, all of which are heavily supported and actively encouraged by the management team and CEO THE REQUIREMENTS - The suceessful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive equivalent with a minimum of 2 years Employment Law experience - You will have a broad and varied range of employment experience, from either a claimant or respondent background, but an openness to undertake both elements of the work - You will be required to handle a busy caseload of contentious and non-contentious matters, from drafting contracts and directors service agreements, to dealing with TUPE transfers, internal HR issues, and representing clients in contentious disputes - You must be a confident advocate, with previous experience of conducting your own advocacy - Strong interpersonal skills are a must, along with the ability to build strong relationships with your clients - A confident networker and business developer THE BENEFITS - Competitive salary and benefits package - Employee benefits package - Progression development and flexible working - Excellent CPD BCL Legal is an equal opportunities employer.
