We are recruiting for a Wind Turbine Commissioning Technician to join our team in Glasgow. You will be required to travel to any ENERCON wind turbine site in the UK or even abroad to work on the electrical commissioning of wind turbines for ENERCON. This will involve among other things, auditing, fault finding, paperwork completion and working to check lists. You will be accurate in your work, adept with using computers and have a positive and integrative approach to team work. You may be required from time to time to assist with the installation department or act as a service technician dependent on the requirements of the business. You will also be required to work weekends and be away from your private residence for up to 4 weeks at a time when necessary. You must be willing to learn from others, ask questions and above all be patient, courteous and helpful. Main Responsibilities: •Climbing Wind Turbines •Inspection and testing of electrical components with •Inspection and testing of electrical connections •Fault finding on electrical and mechanical components and software •Installation of components when required, i.e. ice detectors, blade heating, anemometers •Checking of systems and parts for defects and reporting of these •Installation of grease systems •Installation of the SCADA system •Carry out any grid connection work on any turbine required. This comprises of non-electrical work and may mean a degree of physical exertion is required for cable pulling and grid connection •Carrying out mechanical work as and when required •Performing software updates •Documentation of commissioning reports •Completion of any remaining tasks •Take a highly proactive approach to maintain knowledge of turbines and all upgrades. Where personally necessary and required, suggest courses and further training •Produce all necessary paper and computerised reports for supervisors and management on a weekly and monthly basis. •Ensure completion of all electrical maintenance schedules on time. •Fault finding and reporting on electrical equipment •Installation and retrofitting of key electrical components •Carry out risk assessments and method statements when and where necessary •Ensure that there is good communication between yourself, indoor technicians and the service dispatch coordinator and all issue are reported promptly for rectification •As and when necessary and where there is no commissioning work, or where you are directed to do so by your supervisor, you will be expected to work with the installation team erecting WEC’s or work with the Service Technicians •Adhere to all relevant health and safety requirements •Complete accurately and on time, all H&S paperwork as require •Understand the critical nature of H&S on site and work to ensure that no individual is put at risk at any time •Make effective use of all technology and equipment to complete the requirements of the job. Use computers effectively and log all worked hours on the appropriate system •Ensure the smooth operation and coordination where required between ENERCON Employees, Contractors and Customers •Respond promptly, and effectively to ad-hoc problems as and when they occur •When and where necessary, travel to WEC sites throughout the UK, Germany and elsewhere in Europe.
