Specialty Doctor New Service

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Specialty/ Ward Doctor to join our brand new service Cygnet Nield House in Crewe. This role will be working 40 hours per week between Monday to Friday with an on-call requirement. Cygnet Nield House, Clarion Ward will be a newly opened specialist Personality Disorder Service designed to provide intensive in-patient support for 15 female patients with personality disorder within the Cygnet Health Care family. Cygnet Nield House also includes a separate 14 bedded in patient personality disorder service for management of personality disorder with disordered eating unit. Each ward will have its own separate substantive staff with a shared on call rota and prospective cover. There will be an overarching DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy) based philosophy and approach guiding service delivery and development across the site. The Opportunity The Specialty Doctor will work as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team (MDT), under the supervision of named Consultant Psychiatrist, in providing high quality of care to patients admitted in Cygnet Hospital Nield House. The Specialty Doctor will be expected to provide input for Clarion Ward. The role of the Specialty Doctor is primarily clinical (i.e. service delivery). The Specialty Doctor, as part of the MDT will be responsible for helping meeting the patients’ mental and physical health needs. The Speciality Doctor will be expected to participate in the Integrated Governance of the Hospital. The Specialty Doctor will be expected to contribute to service developments as appropriate to his or her competencies. Participation in weekly Ward Rounds and in other multidisciplinary meetings, including Care Programme Approach Meetings (CPA’s), Mental Health Review Tribunals (MHRT’s) and Section 117 meetings, ensuring that full and up-to-date clinical information is available to the meeting and ensuring that medical decisions are implemented as planned. Are you the successful candidate we are looking for? Full GMC registration and an MBBS (or equivalent) medical qualification Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice along with Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity The ability to demonstrate sound clinical judgment / experience in making clinical decision and managing risk and knows when to seek help Excellent verbal / written communication skills along with the ability to interview, assess and treat patients and write clear comprehensive medical notes Proven record of CPD (Continued Professional Development) The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team Desirable: Section 12 Desirable: Royal College of Psychiatrists membership (MRCPsych) or equivalent Why Cygnet?
