Senior "Data Centre Network" Technical Specialist London 6 months Banking Client £560 per day The person will responsible for the design, build delivery and support of highly available, cost effective and strategically aligned network technical deliverables that meet current and forecasted business requirements. The role will focus initially on a data centre project relating to WAN and market data services. Any candidate should have strong cisco Networking, Checkpoint Security, and Market Data skills. Accountabilities: Provide consultancy and advice to provide guidance on meeting business needs for network requirements and recommend technically sound, appropriate, cost effective deliverables. Work closely with Service Delivery Technical Solutions to identify and agree highly available, cost effective, strategically and policy aligned designs that meet business requirements and that can be delivered within the required time scales. Analyse, design, cost and manage deployment of small, large and complex network solutions to meet stated business requirements. Management and communication of technical deliverables Assist in the diagnosis, resolution and root cause analysis of network issues by providing technical expertise and support. Install and configure Data Network services according to SD Network Group standards and policies, and to agreed service levels. Carry out Data Network technical activities in support of project delivery. Identify and implement improvements to Network technical processes and toolsets to improve resource and cost efficiency Identify and remediate risks associated with the platform. Network designs updates in support of project initiatives. Provide design engineering support to business projects Customer service skills are essential Key Capabilities/ Knowledge: Thorough Knowledge of Data Network technologies and standards products essential. Knowledge of Network technology Data Centre Network Infrastructure, Wide Area and Local network skills (CCNP -CCIE, CCDP) . IP technologies relating to network e.g. TCPIP, Access Control Lists, QOS, multicast, etc Cisco IOS and NXOS Excellent Cisco Routing and Switching skills (specifically OSPF and BGP) Excellent Checkpoint Firewall R77 and R80 skills (Firewall, IPS, NAT, VPN, Multi domain management) Exposure to security auditing and management tools, Skybox preferred Change management process and systems, Service Now preferred Market Data experience, dealing with 3rd parties to design and implement secure connectivity for the bank to market data services. Ability to analyse/design high level technical proposals which provide solutions to business requirements. Ability to present technical information at an appropriate level with good presentational skills Network monitoring\management tools Solarwinds Orion Any F5 or load balancing exposure would be beneficial Ability to identify and calculate financial and non-financial costs and benefits of alternative technical directions. Proven track record in the delivery of technology projects Ability to provide technical guidance to colleagues & third parties Excellent planning and co-ordination skills the ability to effectively prioritise and to work with a minimum of supervision Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at a number of different levels both internally and externally.
