Overview
Morrisons Data Services team is an exciting place to be, we’re changing and optimising the way we manage and deliver data across the organisation. As a BI Developer you’ll be responsible for helping derive value from Morrisons data assets. Working alongside the BI architecture and engineering lead, you will define and develop data pipelines, build new BI reporting and applications and enhance and optimise our existing BI products. You will play a key role in the evolution of our BI processes, supporting the development of standards and best practice, acting as subject matter expert for BI development across Morrisons and our development partners and supporting the evolution of our approach to BI through the exploration and evaluation of new BI tools and ways of working to deliver value to Morrisons from our data. In the role of a BI Developer you’ll do things like this: Develop BI data pipelines to deliver reliable, consistent and high-quality data for BI in line with Morrisons strategic BI architecture plan Data Governance and quality across the entire BI platform (Qlik) Design and develop front end reports / apps / dashboards to deliver insight and enable data analysis against end user objectives and outcomes that drive value from our data Support the development of standards and workflows for BI development Morrisons SME for BI development, ensuring pipelines and data processing is documented and understood and we follow a consistent, replicable and governed approach to developing BI products Ensuring quality of delivered products and adherence to Morrisons BI development processes for development, testing & deployment completed by 3rd party suppliers / contractors and internal teams Stable and performant code / solutions delivering reliable and scalable BI products Cost minimisation through effective selection and development of tools / processes POC / prototype development and investigation of new BI tools and technologies to ensure we constantly evolve our approach to BI and leverage emerging technology About You You’ll need skills and experience like this to be a success: Qlik Development, including: ETL processes, data modelling, dashboard design, overall UI/UX design and Nprinting Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases QlikView / Qlik Sense charting, Set Analysis, Variables, Templates, Incremental Load and building/deploying Section Access Strong knowledge on QlikView / Qlik Sense server architecture, building QVDs and QVWs applying business rules and data validations Creating Dashboards using QlikView / Qlik Sense Sheet objects and using different data sources like Oracle, SQL Server, QVD files and excel. Understanding of Data warehouse life cycle involving Requirement Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing, and Deployment Skills Strong relationship management, able to engage with colleagues in different roles / levels Understanding end user objectives / outcomes and translating into functional requirements and technical design to ensure our deliveries meet expectations and enable business users to drive value from the data Working to own initiative and managing competing priorities with a dev-ops approach to maintaining and evolving our BI platform and products in parallel About The Company Morrisons.com has experienced amazing growth.
