Empowering government to make a difference to everyone, every day. The Day Job Sopra Steria is recruiting for Principal Solution Architect to join our growing Public Sector. The Principal Solution Architect will join the Government sector Architecture & Engineering Centre of Expertise, where you will help design new innovative IT solutions for customers digital needs that will disrupt the industry. You will work with a team of Architects to analyse, design and implement modern platform and cloud services for use across UK Government. This will involve using industry leading techniques, technologies and products as well as enhancing existing systems. Key Responsibilities You will create, enable, deliver, and support end-to-end software/platform solutions for digital change, creating architectures and strategies including mapping and translating the clients business needs into complete technology blueprints. Assessment of potential solutions/products and their alignment to technology strategy, and technology partners to the partner ecosystem. Building relationships and acting as a technology adviser to the clients IT transformation and cloud migrations. You will need to be an experienced Architect having worked in an agile delivery environment; be a strong communicator; have accountability for creating and delivering end-to-end solutions for key initiatives, projects and feature teams; have a keen interest in emerging technology, be networked into the industry, and you will have the drive and motivation to make a difference. Essential Skills Proven ability to establish business and technical direction, delivering architecture for clients aligned to technology strategy. Experience working with stakeholders and other IT colleagues to gather a thorough understanding of detailed functional and non-functional requirements and articulate the impact of any proposed change on the business systems, IT software and infrastructure landscapes. Ability to construct solutions that deliver the desired business objectives ensuring the agreed standards relating to the IT target architectures, IT services (availability, resilience, and performance), and quality and cyber/security policies are met. Creating IT solution artefacts using standard industry best practice frameworks and methodology that are mapped to the business requirements, stories and benefits. Experienced working within Agile Feature teams to ensure developers from various IT development areas create components that deliver your solution design. Excellent working knowledge of the Governments digital standards, or equivalent, including both the GDS and or gov.scot standards to enable you to develop innovative solutions that meet the digital technical and delivery objectives. Skilled in presenting technical issues and IT solution strategies to stakeholders and other IT professionals enabling informed decisions to be made.
