Quality Engineer
Overview
Our Client are a leading electronic manufacturing business based in the North East. The company currently require a talented Quality Engineer to join the business. Purpose of the Role: To play an active role in the ensuring of quality product and processes within the Factory. To liaise with all departments and functions in the development of their processes to maximise company effectiveness and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: To ensure the quality system is maintained to a standard that meets internal, customer and regulatory requirements. To participate in the systems review and continuous improvement of quality management system. Ensure certification to ISO 9001. Ensure certification to ISO13485 (medical device). Ensure compliance with all major customer quality plans. To promote a quality culture throughout the organisation and support ongoing improvement of product quality through inspection, quality initiatives and continuous improvement. To support the implementation of 5-S, improved housekeeping and lean practices with the intention of making the company a leader of the Visual Factory. Maintenance of value adding quality performance metrics and data preparation, trend analysis to facilitate improvement. Creation of new quality documents including SOPs, Test Methods, Work Instructions and Visual Aids for both the inspection and manufacture. Involvement in customer complaint, corrective/preventive actions, supplier quality, change control and continuous improvement activities. To support the internal audit process for 9001 and 13485, and product quality audits and online inspections on a regular basis. Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental procedures. To be aware and responsible towards all aspects of Health, Safety, Welfare and Environment of themselves and others within their own working area. Ensure compliance with ISO procedures. Champion continuous improvement of product quality to ensure sustained customer satisfaction. Ensure production operatives have the tools to ensure the manufacture of quality product to specification. Prepare technical reports, customer complaint responses and improvement actions. Be familiar with, or willing to train to modern quality tools to sponsor and promote data driven quality analysis and variation reduction. Skills Required: Sustained background in a quality related role within a manufacturing organisation. An understanding of Quality Control, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing principles and practices. Ideally have experience of Electronic Manufacturing. An understanding of Good Manufacturing Process ( within a medical device or pharmaceutical production environment. - Ability to use measuring and test equipment. Familiarity with MS Office package, proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
