Join us as a Support Worker (experienced or not) in Ellesemere Port and you'll soon see why Outline of Role This MacIntyre service in Ellesmere Port houses four people (aged between 44 and 70) with learning disabilities and you will play a key part in assisting the people we support to live as independently as possible and become part of the local community. They enjoy attending shows and going to the cinema, going on holiday (here and abroad), train journeys and discos, all of which you will be expected to join in with and find common interests that you can share. Other hobbies include: Motorbikes, Musical likes (Elvis Presley, Status Quo, Showaddywaddy), TV classics like Prisoner Cell block H, days out, parties, and visiting family. What's not to enjoy? Because of their learning disabilities, some people require help with personal care. They can display behaviours of concern but we will give you full training in how to facilitate positive behaviour. There will also be day-to-day advice and help from your Head of Service (Frontline Manager) and other Senior Practitioners. You will be on a rota system which includes days, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays. This really is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive difference to someone's life. What we need from you Firstly, you don’t need experience to become a Support Worker but it’s not easy. The work can be demanding and challenging at times but no 2 days are the same and the reward of seeing YOUR personal impact is incredibly inspiring. As long as you have the passion and drive to want to make a real difference, we’ll teach you the rest. With your key attributes and our training, together we can deliver the best possible support. It is essential for this job that you hold a full manual driving licence and have your own vehicle covered for business use, as you will be driving service vehicles .
