Overview

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and very successful manufacturing engineering company in West Yorkshire for a Manufacturing Director. The main function will be ensuring customer delivery and quality expectations are met while striving to reduce manufacturing costs and lead times. We are seeking a strong Manager with excellent people skills combined with a background which encompasses M/C shop processes Manufacturing Director/Operations Director/Machining/Assembly/Valves/Pumps/M/C Tool/Special Purpose machinery/Rotating Equipment Main Duties: (In brief) Lead , motivate and mentor the operations team Chair weekly production meetings Create manufacturing strategy in line with the company business plan Review Shop floor layout and suggest improvements as necessary Eliminate bottlenecks as far as is practicable Maintain a lean working environment Identify make V buy for machined components Identify where necessary the use of subcontract m/c shops Conduct appraisals and set objectives Salary reviews, recruitment, Tool box talks Skills education and experience: Good knowledge of lean manufacturing and in particular strong machine shop experience. Strong managerial skills with the ability to manage a diverse range of personalities Expert knowledge of machine shop processes as well as general assembly for single piece manufacture.
