Overview

We are looking for experienced Senior or Lead Software Engineers (Python/ Ruby) to join our client in Bicester. This is an ideal opportunity for a Lead Python Developer to contribute technical expertise in the form of; development, architecture and platform/cloud engineering . The Lead Python Developer will play an important role in the development of a new product suite and will be encouraged to utilise open source tools on a daily basis. This company is small but have created a complex product which has a lot of success and are now expanding their range with a Linux -tool-based solution suite designed to enable customers to utilise hpc. This is a great chance for a Senior or Lead Software Engineer to join a small but very talented company building highly complex software platforms in a role offering leadership, architecture and engineering challenges – plenty to get your teeth stuck into. Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Lead Python Develop include: Leading the development (small team of engineers) and architecture. Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship. Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery from design through release. Managing the project implementation. Take ownership of projects, overseeing and engaging in development efforts along with management of development processes. Lead and participate in peer reviews of solution designs and related code. R&D - Day-to-day investigation of new technologies to ensure we are using the best tools for the job. Key Skills & Experience: Full stack software development ideally Python or Ruby, predominantly back end. S cripting languages such as Bash, Ruby, Python. Agile process driven. Capable of understanding and defining a technical solution to a complex problem from design to release. Interest in open-source software and Linux environments. Solving problems; you understand that most problems can be solved in numerous ways. Can demonstrate an open-source background , e.g. GitHub project contributions etc A natural leader, comfortable with written and spoken communication. Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) is also highly desired.
