The main purpose of the role will be to work closely alongside our outsourced third-party development house, to develop customised workflow solutions. The role will require you to liaise with the business to understand their strategy, objectives and key projects to determine the system requirements for SJPs iBusiness system. You will have strong hands-on development skills with SQL, VB and .Net Key Responsibilities: Implement application designs considering performance, scalability, and sustainability Estimate effort needed to complete tasks Raise issues with requirements and technical implementation Evaluate alternate solutions to technical problems Continuously enhance personal skills with development technologies Translating business requirements for our core system into technical specifications by liaising with users; reading documentation; evaluating procedures and processes Peer review code within the development team to ensure core procedures are adhered to Validating testing results Understand existing systems and how these can be enhanced to support additional requirements, whilst meeting controls solutions through detailed technical specifications Providing operational support to the wider Technology team as and when required Required Skills : Strong experience in analysis, design and development of well-built software solutions to meet business requirements Good understanding of non-functional requirements covering security, scalability and reliability Experience of delivering supportable, maintainable code with good logging and diagnostics to facilitate good support for end users Ability to work with business stakeholders to discuss requirements and solutions Ability to work as a trusted escalation point for the Team & Department who will own questions and ensure colleagues get a response Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills Good design and development skills to deliver optimal solutions to problems Ability to rectify problems under difficult or high-pressure circumstances Delegation skills, and ability to work individually and as part of a team Required Technical Knowledge & Qualifications: Previous experience in software development Exposure to Cloud Computing (preferably AWS) Strong experience in SQL, VB and .Net is essential Experience in C#, SWCF, ASP.NET and MVC is desirable Strong analytical skills with attention to detail Ability to understand systems Is this role for you?
