More about the role: The Tech Buyer is an important role that acts to support the Senior Tech Buyer in delivering the AO sourcing, procurement and vendor management strategy. Business partnering support will be required for AO’s day to day sourcing projects. This role may also oversee the management of a Junior Tech buyer who supports the systems procurement team with low risk investments and department administration. The role is responsible for: - Promoting AO’s technology sourcing, procurement and vendor management strategies to the business. - Working closely with stakeholders to help with their sourcing needs, including guiding procurement activities such as RFP generation, vendor scoring, contract negotiation and vendor selection. - Managing personal self-development to ensure adequate skills for supporting business sourcing-related activity. - Keeping abreast of industry trends that have an impact on the technology sourcing strategy, through external advisory services and good working relationships with existing and potential strategic vendors used by the enterprise. Here's what you can expect to be doing: - Promote and Communicate the IT systems procurement mission, vision and guiding principles to business stakeholders. - Make recommendations and provide pertinent input to technology sourcing projects - Assist business stakeholders to compile system requirements and vendor comparisons to support business case creation. - Ensure that effective processes are adhered to to maximize the delivery and implementation of any sourcing activities. A few things about you: - Two or more years in technology sourcing and/or procurement and/or vendor management is expected. - Experience in technology negotiations. - Other functional experience - particularly in IT, business strategy, business analysis or finance — is highly desirable and beneficial. - Experience in evaluating support agreements. - Demonstrated ability in driving support for a sourcing (or IT-business) strategy. - Strong ability to translate stakeholder requirements into technology sourcing practices and business outcomes. - A broad understanding of technology sourcing trends and their potential implications to the business. - Current knowledge of the technology product and service market and its trends - Knowledge of the sources of data and analytics to support the development and execution of sourcing strategies Why choose AO: We’re in the business of better tomorrows, for both our customers and our people.
