General Manager/Centre Manager - Retail/Events Due to company growth we're exclusively recruiting for an experienced General Manager, with a background in Retail, Hospitality, Events or similar within a single large site or multiple sites. Our client are Europe's largest private operator of indoor and outdoor market and fayres. They are a family-run business who have been established over 160 years. This is a fantastic opportunity to operate a fantastic site in Birmingham. With lots of stalls offering a vast selection of goods from home improvement services to fresh produce, we're looking for a professional to make an impact to continue and improve upon existing services and reputation. You will be responsible for maximising revenue generated through stall holders, venue compliance, staff management and an input into the sales and marketing strategy. The Ideal General Manager will demonstrate the ability to: Ensure that operations develop procedures and maintains high standards in operational delivery and Health & Safety. Lead the operational team ensuring a culture of high standards, continuous improvement and teamwork in line with Company's values, and policies. Attend meetings, presentations and exhibitions as a representative for the business. Implement market maintenance and H&S compliance. Line manage operational staff and support others in ensuring safe running and company continuity. Support existing HR procedure - Disciplinary - promotions and reviews. Manage recruitment and ensure current staff job descriptions and updated and reviewed. Ensure operations maintain excellent relationships with new and existing customers, local authority's clients and private sector clients creating customer satisfaction always To review market's performance with your Operations Manager and establish an operational efficiency and effectiveness improvement plan to support improved profitability. To provide the necessary management support and supervision to ensure that operational staff are competent, well-trained, motivated and able to discharge their duties effectively. Follow up with clients, post event, ensure repeat business where possible, - use feedback forms and service reports Market event services, promote and secure new business by attending offsite meetings, networking and business development events.
