Overview

Our Client is a global investment bank based in Central London, they are looking for a Interim Procurement Manager Long-term temp role £400 Daily rate Responsibilities Support the Head of Procurement in setting up the strategy of the newly created procurement function of the bank. Lead sourcing initiatives as well as leading projects solely in support of strategic objectives Co-ordinating and managing tender processes; Interfacing with internal customers; managing contractual risk, liaising with the supplier base and resolving issues Analysis of system and business processes within the procurement costs management area with a view to streamlining, automating and driving improvements/efficiencies. Analyse current spend and advise on areas of cost savings and ensure Procurement activity is met. Develop an understanding of business needs that can be built into practical category strategies in collaboration with business stakeholders to deliver a lower cost base and more efficient and cost effective processes. Develop and establish procurement standards and ensuring compliance Develop and lead contracting negotiations for identified suppliers Work closely with Legal Department to ensure contracts are finalised, appropriate and fit for purpose and in line with business requirements Develop and maintain a robust framework of good governance and commercial control Monitor suppliers' performance, ensure SLAs and KPIs are met, and drive improvements Analysing procurement data, producing KPIs and providing detailed reports to internal stakeholders Design and develop regular ad-hoc reports Experience: Extensive experience in procurement from banking or regulated corporate environment. A track record in defining and leading Procurement strategies across the Indirect Category, particularly IT, delivering exceptional value and savings to the business Outstanding Stakeholder Relationship Management skills, with good understanding and delivering on Executive Level stakeholder requirements Contract management and contract negotiation experienced essential Track record of delivering results in pressurised, complex and demanding environments. Competency: Good understanding of Supply Chain Management, Outsourcing and Third Party Risk Management Commercial acumen on various procurement categories spend (IT, HR, Corporate Service, Professional Service) The ability to lead and manage projects & issue resolution including demonstration of delivering change Thoroughness, high degree of accuracy and sensitivity to detail Sound judgement in order to identify errors in the data, assess their impact and initiate corrective measures on a timely basis Ability to work independently, prioritising own work within an environment of continually changing priorities Self-motivator and be able to adapt to flexible approach A high degree of initiative and judgement, reliability, resourcefulness and flexibility to perform a variety of tasks and set priorities Ability to follow and handle various tasks within tight deadlines Skills & Knowledge: Evident negotiation skills Evidence of experience in stakeholder engagement and management Can demonstrate commercial acumen. Persuasive communication skills Appropriate varied presentation styles and the ability to manage complex projects. Team working and motivational skills. Relationship management skills with the ability to manage and resolve difficult situations Exceptional procurement knowledge and experience including contract law Strong organisational skills IT literate, advanced user of MS Excel is a must Demonstrated proficiency in project management Well-developed analytical skills are required An understanding of the Process Excellence tool set (Six Sigma, Lean) is preferred. Qualifications: A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business Management or Economics would be preferable. CIPS qualifications advantage.
