Senior Manufacturing Manager - Kent - Permanent - Competitive Salary A world leading manufacturing organisation based in Kent, are currently looking for a Senior Manufacturing Manager to join their team, on a permanent basis. The main function of this position will be managing a team of 10 direct reports, including an engineering manager and three production shift managers. You will lead CI (Continuous Improvement) activities for the whole process, from order entry, through to shipping. You will have responsibility for an internal budget and will work in a methodical manner to drive down costs and implement savings where necessary. You will allocate appropriate resources to meet unexpected challenges to quality, cost and service levels and look to promote a culture of targeted continuous improvement activities across manufacturing. As well as this, you will identify and forecast future resource requirements (equipment/facilities/people). The role holder will provide leadership and support to ensure production meets its goals and objectives. The candidate will act to promote a culture of targeted continuous improvement activities across manufacturing. You will work to drive down wastage and improve yields, as well as operating with a "manufacturing first" approach to addressing issues. The candidate will have significant knowledge of DMAIC/Six-Sigma, statistical process controls and analytical techniques to drive improvements across manufacturing and achieve reliability targets. You will also conduct timely reporting to management against objectives, including presentations, monthly reports and key performance indicator monitoring of individuals reporting into yourself. The training and skills development of these individuals will also fall into the job scope. Working directly with the site director you will effectively manage change programmes including new product introduction, expansion/contraction of existing product ranges and introduction of new technology. To be considered for this role, candidates will be qualified to either Degree level in engineering or a related field or be qualified by experience. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, leading engineering teams of similar sizes. Experience of working within the pharmaceutical/Medical Device industry is essential and any steriles manufacturing experience is highly sought after. Additionally, any knowledge of working with primary/secondary packaging and bottling would be an advantage.
