Senior Buyer Global Aerospace Manufacturer based in the South East £40 - 50k (DOE) Relocation Package Benefits Contact Rhys: This role offers a great opportunities to take on significant responsibility, manage and develop your category and drive the company forward as its see's significant growth and transformation. This state-of-the-art electronics company within the aerospace/defence sector is looking for an experienced senior buyer overseeing strategic procurement to join their team as it undergoes an interesting period of change. The successful candidate will join a niche electronics corporation with a multinational reach and net revenue of over £5 billion within a procurement function which is undergoing a significant transformation. The right candidate will display a strong direct procurement background and would be able to hit the ground running and assist the procurement manager in establishing and managing an extensive supplier base across their allotted categories. Senior Buyer Role Overview: Overseeing the whole end to end procurement process including tendering, in life contract management, category management and restructuring the supplier base. Competently managing both new and existing supplier relationships to establish a sustainable and agile supplier base. This will include managing risk, reviewing supplier performance and delivering cost saving improvements. Liaising with internal stakeholders across the company including operations and manufacturing teams to ensure consistent high performance and contribute to the overall business strategy. Working alongside engineering and project teams on NPI's, and sourcing suppliers of niche components based on technical drawings. Take on a strategic procurement role rather than tactical, assisting in developing long term procurement strategy and planning for the long-term requirements of the business. Senior Buyer Requirements: Procurement experience with experience of running competitive tenders, vendor management and delivering value, preferably in a manufacturing, aerospace or engineering procurement environment (Minimum 3 years) Demonstratable experience of delivering significant cost savings Strong academic record, including relevant engineering or business qualifications and CIPS certificate (desirable). British or EU passport or holding a valid visa allowing you to live and work in the UK without any restriction This opportunity would suit a procurement professional looking for a long-term career move in a company which is heading on an upwards trajectory in terms of both its procurement function and overall operations.
