Overview
Position: Buyer Type: Construction - House Builder Salary: £30 - £40k plus package An award-winning regional contractor have a requirement for an experienced Buyer. The company have been delivering building private residential developments across the North West. You will manage the day to day procurement process, controlling purchasing arrangements across high specification residential developments in North West. Duties to include: Preparation of materials schedules from drawings and specifications for residential projects Sourcing, tender package review, tender, negotiation and contract drafting for high value packages Sourcing and developing with the supply chain, products and innovations that save time and reduce cost to the business through added value and value engineering Co-operation with site management and office management colleagues to ensure provision of a full buying service To be responsible for the purchase of materials and ensure that the award of orders takes into account past performance best use of capacities and skills Ensure that all relevant plant and material requisitions are placed and delivered to developments in a timely fashion to enable the delivery of the build programme Authorise and commit expenditure against budget using the company's preferred process in raising orders Ensure that the company maximises its compliance with group product, specification and deals Skills & Experience Excellent understanding of building technology and construction processes A strong communicator with well-developed written and verbal communication skills Have effective organisational skills Ability to work in a team as well as under own initiative Good understanding and use of procurement processes Able to read construction/engineering drawings Able to create full take off's and schedules from drawings Computer literate and a good understanding of Microsoft Excel is essential Knowledge of the COINS procurement system would be an advantage Able to complete value engineering exercises Able to carry out manual stock/material on-site audits Salary & Package - Buyer You will benefit from a basic salary between £30,000 - £40,000, company car or allowance, mileage and additional company benefits If you are interested in this role and would like to apply please contact Deena at Bromak for a confidential chat or apply following the link.
