About the Role The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient supervisor of repair activities within a geographical area of the operational UK Gas Distribution Network. You will ensure these are carried out safely and efficiently and providing visible frontline engagement with field force, customers and key stakeholders to deliver out vision, culture and priorities of safety, compliance, customer, performance excellence and efficient workload delivery. Your day to day duties will include: Embedding a culture of continuous improvement through the use of performance excellence, implementing a visual performance management and problem-solving techniques. Supervising an effective and highly motivated regional workforce, delivering year-on-year cost efficiencies and improvements in productivity and resource utilisation whilst maintain world-class operational excellence, safety and customer satisfaction. Being responsible for ensuring efficient and safe delivery of domestic and industrial meter installation, maintenance and exchange programmes. Carrying out the Repair team workplace inspections to demonstrate compliance with the required standards/company procedures for dealing with public reported escapes. Ensuring individuals comply with policy and work procedures and achieve company standards of service throughout all activities. Authorising and preparing permitry requirements in accordance with safe control of operations procedures. Managing sickness/absence and low level disciplinary procedures for direct reports, to ensure compliance with company policy. Acting as a public face of Cadent when responding to complaints and enquirers where required. Ensuring Repair works are in full compliance with NRSWA. Sharing, promoting and facilitating/implementing technical and procedural best practice. Being accountable for onsite incident supervisor and investigation in adherence with EM72 and EM77 procedures in response to reports requiring escalations i.e fire, explosion, suspected CO poising and evacuation. Being responsible for ensuing data recording and accuracy within the relevant network is appropriate and complete to support accurate management and regulatory reporting. Monitoring workforce operational performance to ensure all objectives are met and that problems are anticipated and resolved. About You You will possess the following knowledge, skills and qualification: Good understanding of relevant codes of practice, engineering instructions safety and statutory regulation Strong understanding of HSE regulations relevant to role Broad knowledge of policies and procedures and their application in the field Strong understanding of OSGEM 2 Strong understanding of NRSWA Good understanding of planning / resource management HNC/NVQ or equivalent in an engineering discipline City of guilds SNVQ 6012 emergency service operations competence certificate NRSWA supervisor certificate Safety qualification (such as NEBOSH, IOSH certifica Benefits At Cadent we’ve got a whole host of standard and flexible benefits.
