About the Role We have a number of opportunities in the North West area. You’ll be accountable for the safe and efficient delivery of emergency and meter work activities within North West Gas Distribution network ensuring these are carried out safely and efficiently and providing visible frontline engagement with field force, customers and key stakeholders to deliver the Cadent vision and culture also Cadent priorities of safety, compliance, customer, performance excellence and efficient workload delivery. Your day to day duties will include: • Responsibility for embedding a culture of Continuous Improvement within a team through the use of Performance Excellence, implementing of visual performance management and problem solving techniques. • Supervise an effective and highly motivated regional workforce, with direct reports of 20 colleagues, driving performance excellence, delivering year-on-year cost efficiencies and improvements in productivity and resource utilisation whilst maintaining world-class operational excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction. • Operate safely at all times, promoting safe working practices and ownership. Deliver Effective Safety discussions when required ensuring our workforce comply to the highest safety standards possible. • You will be responsible for ensuring efficient and safe delivery of domestic and industrial meter installation, maintenance and exchange programmes. • Carry out FCO workplace inspections to demonstrate compliance with the required standards/company procedures for dealing Industrial and Commercial installations • Ensure individuals comply with policy and work procedures and achieve company standards of service throughout all activities including compliance with STC process. • Be responsible for continually improving customer CSAT scores and the ability to effectively deal with customer enquiries and complaints. • Act as the public face of GDx, especially when responding to complaints and enquiries where required. • Be responsible for ensuring data recording and accuracy is appropriate and complete to support accurate management and regulatory reporting. • Monitor workforce operational performance to ensure all objectives are met and that problems are anticipated and resolved. Implement Performance Improvement Plans where required. • Be Accountable for on-site incident supervision and investigation in adherence with EM72 and EM77 procedures in response to reports requiring escalation. I.e. Fire, Explosion, Suspected CO poisoning, Evacuation. • Be responsible for ensuring data recording and accuracy within the relevant network is appropriate and complete to support accurate management and regulatory reporting. • Share, promote and facilitate/implement technical and procedural best practice. • Ensure FCO emergency works are in full compliance with NRSWA • Deal with technical enquiries from the field force in day • Participate in the management (staff) Emergency Standby rota About You • Good understanding of relevant codes of practice, engineering instructions, safety and statutory regulation • Strong understanding of HSE regulations relevant to role. • Knowledge of policies and procedures and their application in the field • Good understanding of emergency work dispatch system • Strong understanding of NRSWA • Experience of GDx planning/resource management • Good communication skills verbal and written • Experience of leading a team • Coaching and influencing skills • Good understanding of the regulatory regime under RIIO • Customer delivery and enhanced customer satisfaction • Budgetary control and financial awareness • Good understanding of performance excellence approach to improving performance • Use of Microsoft office and SAP applications • Ability to successfully prioritise and handle multiple tasks • Decision making in safety critical situations and Gas Distribution incidents • Managing and prioritising your own workload Benefits At Cadent we’ve got a whole host of standard and flexible benefits.
