Overview
Company Ambitious SME is seeking to appoint its first Financial Controller to work alongside an entrepreneurial Chairman. Ideally we would like to attract an individual with exposure to start-ups who can bring in both an operational and commercial skillset. Role Reporting to the Chairman and working as part of a small and agile team, the role involves planning, implementing and managing the day to day finance activities with strong input to business modelling and the agile product road map. Working closely with the technical team on product relationships with external partners to specify and deliver the financial strategy, you will input heavily to price and go to market models and strategies. In the early days at least, this role is also very hands on. There is no finance team other than the shared resources of other subsidiaries and the goal is to keep the team small and, wherever possible, all transactions automated. Ideally the successful candidate will, as well as having a high level of commercial acumen also have appropriate skills to lead legal and contractual activities. About You As a high potential qualified Accountant, you will ideally have worked within the SME environment, preferably in an owner managed setting. With practical experience of financial and business planning, budgeting and cashflow management, you will have the commercial acumen to understand customer, market and relationship dynamics.
