SENIOR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT ROLE & PERSON SPECIFICATION STRICTLY NO AGENCIES PLEASE Role: Senior Financial Accountant Reports to: Head of Finance Company Background Founded in 2009, Symec Technologies are a leader in mobile technology solutions for the enterprise clients. Symec provide managed services which may include services such as helpdesk, repair, consultancy and asset management. Connectivity such as voice, data, fixed line and broadband. Symec also own and provide software solutions for scheduling, job allocation and digitisation of processes. A dynamic, ambitious and very fast moving company, having doubled in size to 16M t/o in the last 18 months, our current business plan targets further growth to 30m. Symec operates across 2 offices, 1 in the UK and 1 Poland. HQ is Bristol. Customers in various markets including Retail, Transport & Logistics, Warehousing, Distribution and Field Services. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement & maintain robust financial and operational controls across the business. In the UK and Poland. Implementation of Sage Upgrade - Sage 200 system upgrade and automation of finance processes such as automated bank uploads rather than manual input. Compliance and taxation, working with external advisors UK and Poland for VAT and CT. Intra-stat investigation and ongoing process. Oversee the preparation of Group consolidated statutory accounts, year end and audit. Supporting the company with legal agreements, customer contracts and documentation. Business Partnering -Offer excel & analytical knowledge & skills to all departments within the business. Communicate and build relationships with key parties both internally & externally. Key relationships Head of Finance Directors, Financial Accountant, Finance Team & Sales Team Customers & Suppliers Accountants, Advisors, Bankers, Tax and Insurers Education, Training & Experience Required Previous experience in a similar role in a Group with overseas subsidiaries, including taxation and statutory reporting responsibilities Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA) with ideally a minimum of 5+ years post qualified experience spent in a medium to large SME or small PLC Experience of stock management Financial Reporting and technical accounting is essential Detailed knowledge of FRS and IFRS an advantage * Experience of working with SAGE 200 is essential * Technology, software, telecoms and IT an advantage Skills and attributes Attention to detail, highly numerate & analytical Team working & Effective Communication (including to non finance staff) Planning, organisation and project management Multitasking Financial modelling Drive and ambition to support the growth and aspirations of the business Disposition A self starter who enjoys the challenges presented in a fast growing Technology business.
