Overview

Highbridge Resourcing are recruiting for a diligent, passionate and reliable Support Worker who has experience of working with adults with mental health difficulties. The role is based in Acocks Green and is available on a FULL TIME basis (37.5 hours a week) Our client is an independent mental health charity that provides services for adults with mental health in and around the Birmingham area. The main purpose of the Support Worker role is to support people in a residential setting, working in partnership with people who are experiencing mental health difficulties on an individual basis. You will use a person-centred recovery approach that focuses on maintaining and strengthening their presence in the community. Individuals are required to move on after 18 months and therefore experience with rehabilitation is desirable. There is shift work involved Monday to Sunday (8-4pm and 1:15pm-10pm) and you will be required to undertake sleep in duties (approximately 1 per week). Weekend work will be required on a rotational basis every other weekend. It is essential that you have; A minimum of 12 months’ experience working within mental health services, preferably residential care. Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent The ability to work as part of a team Excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to record data accurately. Proven experience of handling and dispensing medication. The ability to work flexible working hours which includes evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep in duties. A flexible approach to your work, cleaning duties will also be reuqired. Good understanding of Equality and Diversity with a positive attitude to people who have experienced mental health difficulties.
