Overview
Profixed Interiors is a small/medium commercial fit out company based in Theale Reading, Berkshire. We specialise in the complete interiors package from suspended ceilings, partitioning, feature build work, decorating and design through to carpentry and joinery. Our customers consist of large high-profile main contractors who sub-contract CAT A and CAT B projects to Profixed Interiors to manage on a supply and fit basis. We are looking for a highly-motivated Assistant Estimator who can provide valuable support to the existing estimating team. The ideal candidate will be prepared to take on a new learning curve, be pro-active, enthusiastic and have an ability to work under pressure. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities Liaise with our clients’ pre-contracts teams, respond to tender requests in a timely manner, monitor quotation deadlines and maintain great working relationships; Evaluate tender documents, make recommendations and develop your skills with take-offs of materials ready for procurement; Assist with preparing compliant scope of works; Attend pre-contract meetings/surveys as and when required; Develop a knowledge of interior fit out systems and over time assist with technical advice throughout the whole supply chain; Learn to identify compliancy issues throughout the tendering process and ensure costings are reflective; Obtain quotes and product information, chase suppliers to meet submission deadlines and build cohesive relationships; Negotiate prices with key suppliers; Follow up on submitted tenders for feedback on rates and obtain project status; Provide a sound knowledge and commitment to health & safety program; Provide administration support to the estimating team; Development Initially we visualise this role to provide effective assistance to the existing estimating team. However as the candidate successfully masters the learning curve involved, there is progression within this role to become an independent estimator. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Previous administration experience, preferably within an estimating or buying department; Previous tendering knowledge ; Experience of the construction industry, ideally interior fit out. Special requirements Full driving licence essential. Onsite free parking. Office located 1 minute from theale train station. Hours Monday - Friday 9am - 5.30pm. 30 days holiday per annum.
