Overview

Temporary Materials Planner - 3 month contract Reporting to the Senior Procurement & Planning Analyst, this role exists to ensure that the OTIF fulfilment of OE customer demand is satisfied in the most cost effective and expedient manner. The MRP system is the main tool of this position, being utilised to convert customer demand into purchase orders and schedules for vendors. To also ensure all non-stock requirements are converted and order placement in line with business process, needs and requirements. Key Responsibilities: To utilise the MRP system to interrogate and convert customer demand into purchase orders and/or schedules for designated vendors. To ensure system purchase orders reflect schedule due dates are kept up-to-date To expedite raw materials and components from designated vendors, to ensure the on-time availability of customer sales order requirements are met in full. To process all stock and non-stock purchase orders in accordance with departmental procedures, ensuring all orders are entered against correct accounting codes. To manage purchase order commitments in line with customer’s requirements, business objectives and the Materials Strategy. To support business initiatives to reduce and control costs within the Materials function. To provide support to the Senior Procurement and Planning Analyst To administrate and maintain consumable stores requirements Qualifications and Experience: Minimum A-Level, or equivalent vocational qualification, standard Demonstrated materials/planning experience preferably gained in a manufacturing business Extensive experience of working with ERP systems including MPS and MRP Familiarity with quality systems and work instructions Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Strong verbal reasoning and persuasion skills Personal Attributes: Organised, tenacious and resilient Excellent team worker Positive and resourceful Customer focused Attentive to detail
